Current political scenario and where it stand today can easily be witnessed by every other pakistani. Surrounded by frustration and grievances it still manages to hold a space on the globe. Opposition today, apparently is a corpse of expectations. they demand, they criticize but always fail to produce any fruitful outcome.
However, opposition still manages to bring out rallies and dharnas against ruling authority. One example was witnessed on 30th October in Lahore, a historical rally was carried out by Imran khan. It is said 'imran khan's tsunami swept lahore'. The leader alone managed to bring about 50k+ public on the ground of minar-e-pakistan. It really is a huge number. Everyone was enthusiastic. What i saw on Tv was, many among them were young souls of our country filled with patriotism and seeking for a change, a better one indeed.
What mesmerized me is the bravery of that leader. He addressed thousands of them with such charisma that it held them till the end. He spoke openly against drone attacks and lack of democracy. Urged to stop NATO supply. And he is the only one who is never accused of being involved in corruption. Many in my neighborhood are openly declaring his victory in upcoming elections, what they think is their faith in him, they believe he can drag them out of this filthy swamp and can bring prosperity to them. Well, that is nothing different from what they believed previously.
Apart from these facts, the success and people's enthusiasm, something that lingers around is a question in me, how Imran khan managed this successful event without having any back? Rally was no doubt a bang, but where are the consequences? Why don't we have that element which creates revolutions and turns decades old government upside down? How long do we have to wait? these questions are thought by ever Pakistani who is now frustrated and disappointed, and implementation of their answers is a dream.
